Community Library
Nestled within the plantation grounds at the front of our Funeral Home in Cheadle, next to our Heritage Information Board, you will find our Community Library.
The concept is simple: “Take a book. Lend a book.”
Once you’ve enjoyed reading a book, return it and feel free to select another.
Our outdoor Community Library offers a diverse collection of books, including titles aimed at supporting those who are grieving, with a special section dedicated to children. Additionally, you will find leaflets and information regarding local grief and mental health charities and organisations that may provide further support if you are in need.

The Compassionate Friends – supporting bereaved parents and their families – have kindly provided us with some recommended reading lists;
Bereavement Books – all or part of the proceeds from sales of these books are donated to The Compassionate Friends.
Reading Suggestions – these books are available to borrow from The Compassionate Friends Postal Library.
Memorial Postbox
Just around the corner, near to the large Alcocks signage in the plantation area, you will also find our Memorial Postbox – a place where grieving children and families can send letters and messages to their loved ones who have passed.
