Unlike traditional post, no stamps are needed, and the letters remain unread. This service offers a meaningful way to express feelings and sentiments that may have been left unsaid or to mark special occasions and anniversaries.
Every message placed in our Memorial Postbox is treated with the utmost care and confidentiality. These heartfelt notes are never read or shared – they remain private, just as intended. When the postbox is full, we gently collect the letters and say a quiet goodbye to them.
We are committed to continuing our care and support, even after the funeral has taken place, and we hope that by providing you with the opportunity to write down your feelings and share your thoughts it will help you with your grieving journey.
Our special postbox is available to anyone who feels they may benefit from it. Whether it is a letter, postcard, birthday card, anniversary card, Mothers or Father’s Day card or a Christmas Card – our Memorial Postbox is available year-round, for you to utilise as you wish.
Every letter posted in our Memorial Postbox is treated with complete confidentiality and sensitivity. None of the mail is opened or read. Once the Postbox is full, we will take gentle care of the contents, making sure the messages are respectfully disposed of in a way that honours their emotional significance. Longer-term, our aim is to mulch the letters down for composting, to help the plantation flourish.
If you would like to post a letter to your lost loved one, you can find our Memorial Postbox in the plantation area at the front of Brook House, near to the Alcocks signage.
We hope that each visit and letter you place in our Memorial Postbox brings you some comfort and peace.
