SAIF Care is a service offered by funeral homes that are members of The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF). It provides a range of services to bereaved people, over the age of 18, including:
SAIF Care services are offered by friendly staff who are trained in counselling and bereavement skills and who will be able to listen and support you. The Counsellors are highly skilled and qualified to help you understand your experience of grief, develop self-care, coping strategies and support you to deal with the challenges you may be facing.
It is available Monday – Friday, from 9am, until 10pm, it is confidential and free of charge to people who have used the services of Jonathan Alcock & Sons.
The Hannah Whitley Foundation wants to help improve the lives of those suffering mental and emotional distress by offering them the chance to learn yoga and meditation as a new coping mechanism to help them through their loss and grief.
The foundation offers a free restorative yoga session, for people who are experiencing grief, on a Sunday evening, it is a very restful class, mainly mat based using then tools of yoga to allow the body to relax and the mind to be more still.
The foundation is a non profit organisation set up by Hannah’s mum Nicki, Hannah died aged 23 in 2017, ten days into a trip of a lifetime, she was involved in a fatal road accident in Goa, India. She was a very spiritual person who loved yoga and meditation and through offering this service, which Nicki passionately believes helps the healing process, they hope her spirit will live on.
