Funeral Catering by Posh Butties

My name is Siobhan, and I am the proud owner of ‘Posh Butties’. Posh Butties is my family-owned catering business, and we are based in Manchester.

I have worked in catering since I was 14; I come from a big Irish family who love food and love family and people. I did Jewish catering until I was 30, mastering all flavours and different cooking styles, and I love making food that looks amazing so that you want to eat it with your eyes!

During lockdown, as a single mum to my four beautiful children, I needed and decided to start creating food from my home, and Posh Butties began as a way for me to bring homemade meals to the local community.

My food proved popular, so when the lockdown ended, I continued to cater for special occasions like family parties. Now, in 2024, it has expanded into a full-service catering business.

We are asked to cater to corporate events, weddings, christenings, and, of course, funerals.

I offer bespoke catering for funerals, providing a sensitive and thoughtful service during these challenging times.

It is an honour to make the food personal, especially for those who are grieving people. I like to talk to the families about any favourite food their loved one may have chosen or their favourite colour to tie in with how I decorate the buffet. I have been asked to make pots of comforting corn beef hash with shortcrust pastry that they can use for dipping, as well as particular flavours of sandwiches like Coronation Chicken and homemade cakes, like coffee and walnut, just like their loved one used to make.
